Emergency Crews Pull Woman From Ohio River

Paducah Police say multiple agencies responded after getting a 911 call from a man who saw the vehicle accelerate through the Kentucky Avenue floodgate, go airborne, and enter the river.
When officers arrived the woman was screaming for help and the car was sinking. A nearby barge company rescued the woman using a small boat. The 21-year-old woman told police she drove into the river in an attempt to kill herself, and police say she appeared to be having a mental crisis. She was taken to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital for treatment. Police do not believe there were any passengers in the car. First responders continued to search for the submerged vehicle into the afternoon.
