A Mayfield, Kentucky man has been arrested for child abuse. On July 16, McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a local hospital regarding a child who had been injured. The child, less than one-year-old, had severe injuries to her head and torso areas. During the investigation, detectives discussed the injuries with physicians from Vanderbilt University, who determined the injuries were not consistent with an accident, but consistent with abuse. Detectives spoke with Randall Walker, who was caring for the child on July 16. He turned himself in on August 13, pursuant to an arrest warrant. The 22-year-old is charged with criminal abuse 1st degree and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
