Two men were arraigned Thursday on separate cases in McCracken County Circuit Court. Not guilty pleas were entered for both Lavance Davenport and Scott Medlock. Each of them will have a pre-trial conference on September 20. Davenport was arrested May 26 after a McCracken Sheriff’s Deputy pulled over his vehicle four days earlier for allegedly speeding. Deputies say Davenport and 20-year-old Jordan Harmon both fled the scene on foot. The vehicle was searched and guns were discovered. Both men turned themselves in after warrants were issued for their arrests. Davenport faces charges of fleeing or evading police in a vehicle and on foot, reckless driving, speeding 26 mph or more over the limit, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Medlock was taken into custody June 22 after deputies approached a suspicious vehicle. He reportedly fled into some woods, and officers learned the vehicle has been reported stolen from Arkansas. Medlock was spotted again in the same area, and a K-9 officer found him after he fled into the woods again. He faces charges of receiving stolen property under $10,000, fleeing or evading police on foot, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and resisting arrest.
