Carlos Vargas, president of Southeast Missouri State University, had his contract extended on Tuesday by the university’s governing Board of Regents. The university’s governing Board of Regents gave the current university president a three-year rolling contract. His new contact will run through June 30, 2024. The university’s graduation rate of almost 51 percent that was recorded last fall represents an improvement of around two percent over the last two academic years. The board also recognized the fact that the university’s response to COVID 19 allowed the university to start and end on time without any interruptions or campus closings.
