It is Unknown if Will be Rebuilt in Cape Girardeau

Cape Girardeau’s Latter-day Saints (LDS), whose church was destroyed, by a suspected arsonist back on April 18, 2021 has been holding church services at the Osage Centre. Officials say it is unknown whether the congregation will rebuild the church at the scene of the fire, 1048 West Cape Rock Drive. The church refers to local congregations as wards, with multiple congregations in a given area organized into what are called stakes.  Christopher Pritchard, the suspect is due back in court on Monday on charges of second degree arson and burglary and two other charges. Officials say that the church is not in need of funding for a new church, but those who wish to donate can visit www.latterdaysaintschairities.org.
