Western Kentucky Man Pleads Guilty to Distributing and Importing Drugs

A Marshall County man pleaded guilty Monday to importing and distributing a controlled substance. Court documents state that Jevan Sheppard pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, importing a controlled substance from china, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance from November 2016 to March 2017. He also pleaded guilty to distributing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute in March of 2017. Sheppard is scheduled to be sentenced on September 23 at 10 a.m. He was arrested in 2017 after an investigation into two overdoses in Calvert City Officers questioned several people and learned that two men had overdosed on the synthetic drug U-47700, commonly known as U-4. The investigation led detectives to execute a search warrant at Sheppard’s home just outside of Draffenville. The search uncovered U-4 packaged to sell, other drugs, a drug ledger, and several loaded firearms.
