NEW YORK (AP) — Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. is out of the Belmont Stakes after a scary fall while racing. Ortiz was thrown from a horse during a race Thursday, taken off the track on a stretcher and then to a local hospital. His brother, Jose Ortiz, tweeted that Irad had no fractures and would be back riding in a few weeks. Irad Ortiz was scheduled to ride Known Agenda in the Belmont. Trainer Todd Pletcher says a decision on a replacement won’t be made until Saturday. Jose Ortiz, Mike Smith and Javier Castellano are among the possibilities.
