The Workforce Development Board of Southeast Missouri and the Sikeston R-6 School Board Awarded Grant Funding

Sikeston R-6 Schools and the Workforce Development Board of Southeast Missouri were recently awarded $100,000 for the Missouri Apprentice Ready Initiative.  Officials say the local Workforce Development Board (WIOA) has a proven history of supporting their students. They also say developing a solid Missouri Pre-Apprenticeship Program and Youth Registered Apprenticeship Program is exactly what this funding will assist in doing. They say the purpose bout developing local industrial partnerships, putting ell developed students into these partnerships and mentoring the student throughout the experience. Officials say they believe   eve it is great that the district will be offering apprenticeships opportunities for their students so they can continue to receive real world work experience.
