Business in Carbondale Opens Up to Mask Policy

On Tuesday afternoon, the City of Carbondale announced it revised the city’s mask policy. Those who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear a mask, but those who are not fully vaccinated have to still wear a mask. Business owners across town are still allowed to enforce their own mask mandates in their businesses. Across Jackson County, big corporations such as Starbucks, Target, Walmart and CVS announced if  a person is fully vaccinated they do not have to wear a mask. Stores including Dollar General, Home Depot, Walgreens and Kroger still have a mask mandate  City of Carbondale leaders are strongly encouraging everyone to get vaccinated. The mass vaccination site at the Banterra Center, on the campus of SIU, is open through Saturday. More information can be found on the city of Carbondale’s website.
