Officials with the Missouri Department of Economic Development confirmed last week that they have awarded Scott City $685,125 in a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Officials say this grant is for long-term recovery. City officials plan to address drainage issues and damage caused by previous storms and flooding disasters along the city’s Main Street. Officials say they are pleased to have received the funding to address storm disaster declarations from both 2017 and 2019. They also say they are hoping to continue to receive the funding to make Scott City’s current infrastructure. Officials say MDED, provides grants and loan funds to cities that have a population under 50,000 residents and counties with less than 200,000 to assist with economic development and public works projects.
