Voters in Jackson Reelect the Alderman and Mayor

All members of the Jackson Board of Alderman will remain the same as current board members Katy Liley and Tommy Kimbel were reelected to new two-year terms on Tuesday, defeating challengers Matthew Ellison and Steven Lee, respectively. The city’s Mayor Dwain Hahs will serve for two more years along Wanda Young, who represents Ward 1 on the board, and Ward 2 Alderman David Hitt, both of whom were also unopposed in Tuesday’s municipal election. A total of 216 of the votes cast in Ward three were cast for Liley, or 76.3 percent of the votes.  Mayor Dwain Hahs, received over 97.3 percent votes for mayor, 770 of 791 votes.
