Victim Who Died in Deadly Shooting Identified

The victim of a deadly shooting in West Frankfort has been identified. West Frankfort Police officers were called to the 700 block of South Skelton Street shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday, March 26, in reference to a male being shot. When officers arrived on the scene they found Gary Gould, 53, of Herrin, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. Police say the Gould’s death is considered a homicide and the investigation is ongoing. No suspect or suspects are in custody.
