The East Prairie R-2 School District recently received over $20,000 worth of grant funding to feed the school children in the district during the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. Officials say during these trying times the district is conforming to the needs of their students and this not only pertains to their education, but their nutrition as well. Officials say they have had to change the way they ensure their students have proper food service. Every student in the district is supplied with an individual packaged breakfast in their classroom and elementary students have their lunch delivered in their classrooms, while the junior and senior high students can social distance while they make their way through the cafeteria classroom. Meals are delivered each week to students who are learning virtually via home delivery.
