The Charleston R-1 Board of Education Votes to Raise Wages of Substitute Teachers

Members of the Charleston R-1 Board of Education recently voted to raise the substitute teacher pay during their meeting in February. All short term substitutes, who have a bachelor’s degree, had their pay increased  from $70 to $90 and non-degree substitutes had their pay increased to $85 from $66.50. In addition, Paraprofessionals, nurses, and secretaries, also had a pay increase their short-term daily rate was raised from $66.50 to $85.
