The Cape Girardeau County Commission Gives Their Approval to Buy New Network Equipment

The Cape Girardeau County Commission gave their approval to a request Thursday from the information technology department to buy network switching and wireless equipment. They approved the utilization of $93,943 from Information technology department funds to buy seventeen switches and twenty three wireless access points as well as the  their associated licensing, from ISD Technologies in St. Louis. Officials say this is their big project for the calendar year and when they built the courthouse and consolidated dispatch, they chose that as an opportunity to kind of utilize better equipment. Officials say this new equipment provides more security for the county offices, so they decided that their big project or the year would be to upgrade the rest of the county network to that same technology.
