Last Month Was Warmer than Normal in the Region

Evan though there was snow fall during the first month of the year it was still warmer than normal. The National Weather Service in Paducah, released their January 2021 Climate Review and it revealed that the region in January lacked extreme warm or cold temperatures through the month, which finished above normal by around three or four degrees. They provide summaries for the regions of Paducah, Evansville and Cape Girardeau. In the Cape Girardeau region, the average temperature last month was 37 degrees with the average high being 44.5 degrees and an  average low of  29.5 degrees. The warmest temperature was 55 degrees on January 14, 2021 and the coolest temperature was 31 degrees on January 11, 2021. The warmest low was 40 degrees on January 25, 2021 and the coldest low was 18 degrees on January 12, 2021. Total precipitation for the month was 2.95 inches.
