The ranking, by Nursing Schools Almanac, collected data on more than 3,000 institutions that included public and private programs. Just 20 percent made the list of the best nursing schools in geographic regions of the nation. The Southeast Missouri Hospital College of Nursing & Health Sciences, a private institution, placed in rankings for both the region, number 81 in the Plains region, and state, number 20 in Missouri. Each institution was evaluated on three dimensions:
- The institution’s academic prestige and perceived value
- The breadth and depth of nursing programs offered and
- Student success, particularly on the NCLEX licensure examination.
Across these four pathways, the College typically graduates about 60 students annually. An RN-to-BSN program is also available for associate degree or diploma-prepared registered nurses who wish to complete their healthcare education.
