Chiefs coach Reid’s patience in struggling players pays off

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Mecole Hardman could have become an afterthought the rest of the AFC title game after a fumbled punt gave the Buffalo Bills an easy touchdown. Instead, Chiefs coach Andy Reid went right back to his wide receiver, and Hardman responded to the confidence in him by ripping off a 50-yard end-around and scoring a touchdown. It was the latest example of how Reid has a unique ability to stick with struggling players and have them come through for him in the clutch.
