Members of The Jackson’s Board of Alderman Get Positive Fund Balance Report at This Week’s Meeting

The city of Jackson’s most recent financial statement revealed that the city’s fund balance expanded by almost $1.1 million over the last half year. The financial statement covered the last half of the last calendar year and it was received and accepted by members of the Jackson Board of Aldermen during their meeting this week. This summery revealed that growth in the city’s treasury from a total $37,412,848.23 in July to a total of$38,506,938.40 on the last day of 2020.  The statement indicated that there was great growth in many fund balances over the past half year such as the city’s sales tax, electric surplus, and landfill, health insurance along with water and sewer surplus funds.
