Cape Girardeau city officials have officially begun advertising for the city’s next city manager. The city hired consulting firm of GovHR USA out of Northbrook, Illinois, has put the advertisement for the soon to be vacant position on their website, govhrusa.com. Scott Meyer, who is currently the city manager, will retire in June. The seven-member city council that possesses the final decision is asking for online applications to be submitted to www. govhrjobs.com by February 28, 2021. Members of the city council have an eye a decision on hiring the new city manager in April. City officials are currently searching for individuals who have a minimum of seven years experience along with increasingly responsible managerial experience in local government. In addition, they are looking for someone who has been either a city administrator or manager.
