Woman Arrested Following Threat at Police Headquarters

Illinois State Police have taken a woman into custody after a “threat” was made to ISP headquarters, with no injuries to anyone. Police say the woman inferred an explosive device might be present. Out of an abundance of caution, a search of the area was conducted and no explosives were located. US 51 was reopened around 8:30 p.m. and normal operations at the District 13 headquarters resumed shortly after. Police responded to a threat at the District 13 headquarters in Du Quoin. Police say he security of the building was threatened by an individual. All traffic has been diverted off of US 51 in the area for public safety. At this point there have been no injuries. The incident is being actively investigated by ISP.
