Missouri Governor Mike Parson recently confirmed that the state will be releasing once restricted Fiscal Year 2021 funds back into the budget. State officials have released a total $126,921,606 that includes s $117,460,583 worth of general revenue. The Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development will get almost $26 million from the funding s and $1.5 million for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The remainder has funding for many other departments, such as the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Office of Administration, Department of Agriculture, Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Economic Development among others. Officials restricted around $449 million from Missouri’s budget due to the COVID-19 pandemic taking a toll on the state’s finances.
