St. Francis Healthcare Starts Vaccinating Their Frontline Healthcare Workers

Officials at Saint Francis Healthcare System started vaccinating patient-facing, frontline healthcare workers on Friday. Over 330 Saint Francis co-workers received their vaccinations thanks to Broadway Pharmacy in Cape Girardeau. Equally with the phased vaccination approach from both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, officials at St. Francis Healthcare systems are taking a risk-stratified approach across the whole Healthcare System, by giving the vaccine two of their co-workers which are in close contact with patients that have COVID 19 as well as those who are suspected to have COVID 19. Officials vaccinated 200 plus additional co-workers at the Medical Center yesterday. St. Francis Healthcare System will start vaccinating co-workers at Medical Partner clinics across Southeast Missouri tomorrow starting with clinics in Sikeston and Poplar Bluff. More colleagues at the Medical Center and Medical Partners clinics will receive their vaccinations this week. Because of the CDC’s phased prioritization process, it could take several months before the vaccine is available to members of the general public.
