Local Hospital Makes Donation to Fight against Homelessness of Students in McCracken County

Officials at Lourdes Hospital recently gave a single donation of $10,000 to help to fight homelessness among the student population in McCracken County to Paducah Public Schools, McCracken County Public Schools and the Paducah Community Kitchen.  Paducah and McCracken County Public Schools will utilize the provided funding to assist their students and their family members who are on the verge of becoming homeless or they are currently homeless. Officials say their most immediate necessities are gift cards for places such as like laundromats, grocery and clothing stores and toiletry items. Whenever, temporary shelter necessities come up, the Paducah Community Kitchen will utilize their donation for hotel rooms for families in need. Officials with all three organizations say they have seen an increase in need due to the  coronavirus pandemic.
