Southeast Missouri State University officials recently signed an agreement with both the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport and the US Aviation Group (USAG) and the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport to offer a Professional Pilot program that will be forming next fall and Southeast Missouri State University students will now have the opportunity to receive a Bachelor of Science in Professional Pilot. US Aviation Group (USAG), which has been, a provider of professional flight training since the year 2006 will be providing all of the services related to management for this new program at the university. All of the program training that will be conducted in a classroom will take place on the main campus at Southeast Missouri State University. Additional related training for the program such as flight training will take place at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, where USAG will have crew members and training devices All Southeast Missouri State students who are enrolled in the new program will be provided all the necessary training in order to achieve FAA certifications to be a private or commercial pilot as well as a flight instructor. This new professional pilot program accolades Southeast’s Bachelor of Science in unmanned aircraft systems, also referred to as drones that was started three years ago.
