Conservation Officials Stock area Lakes with Rainbow Trout

Officials with the Missouri Department of Conservation recently filled a few ponds around the region with over 5,000 rainbow trout and they do this once every calendar year. Officials say stocking trout during the winter months is a good opportunity for communities to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Officials say they stocked Geyson Lake in Farmington with a total of 1,300 fish, Legion Lake in Perryville was stocked with 3,600 fish and Rotary Lake in Jackson was stocked with 2,000 fish. From now until the first of February its catch and release only, officials say and from that date onward, anglers can harvest their fish.
