There is a new airport manager in charge of the Sikeston Memorial Airport. Sikeston City officials confirmed that Chris Hart was appointed as the airport manager on Tuesday. He will be responsible for running all of the airport’s operations as well as working alongside both federal and state agencies for development of the Sikeston Memorial Airport in the future. He is a resident of Sikeston and has worked as a city employee for the past 19 years working as both parks and airport supervisor. The Sikeston Memorial Airport has assisted several area businesses and often serves as a first impression for economic development opportunities in the city. Utilization of the airport continues to rise with more than 2,000 departures and descents every year and more than 20,000 gallons of fuel were sold last year.
