Commission Members Approve Cape Girardeau County to Replace Old Dump Truck

Cape Girardeau County , commissioners  gave their approval for the city to replace a thirteen -year-old dump truck with a modern model that is more fuel efficient model.  The Freightliner vehicle will be bought from TAG Truck Enterprises with a price tag of $147,551. One fourth of the price or around $37,000 will be paid for by using grant funds available to the county. Officials say He County’s part f the truck purchase will be paid for from the county’s budget for next year when the county takes delivery of the truck.They also gave their approval to a $220 payment from the county’s coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act fund for valid integration in relation to the county’s coronavirus expense reimbursement program. City officials say they expect to present coronavirus reimbursement requests from area business during the commission’s next meeting that are total more than $30,000 worth of coronavirus related expenses. They say these requests will bring the whole of reimbursement requests from local businesses to around $175,000, which is being paid for by the county’s CARES Act fund.
