Police Looking for Man Who Fired Gun into Home

Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man they say fired a handgun into the home of his ex-girlfriend on Lone Oak Road. Police say a woman called police just before 1 a.m. Thursday and said 25-year-old Travon Jones had been texting her throughout the evening and had knocked on the back door of her apartment. The woman said she ignored him, and he tried to enter the apartment through the front door. She said she heard a noise and saw a window being opened, and saw Jones standing outside. The woman told officers Jones put a handgun inside the window and pointed it at her, then fired a shot into the living room wall. She then fled, and Jones fired a second shot into the wall about three feet to her right. The woman’s friend came downstairs about the time the second shot was fired. Jones is charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550.
