Currant Cape Girardeau County Mask Mandate to be in Affect for Another Month

Members of the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center Board of Trustees recently voted to extend the county’s current mask mandate for at least another month. Officials say the board will take a vote on this matter again on October 27, but if it is necessary they can rectify the decision at anytime. The Board of Trustees had a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the matter. Many local residents provided their feedback at the meeting on the county’s current mandate and  many of the comments that were made were against continuing the current mask mandate. During their meeting last month members of the Board of Trustee’s took a unanimous vote to have the current mandate stay in effect until Tuesday. The current mask mandate went into affect back on July 13, 2020, but at the time officials didn’t have a date for the mandate to expire.
