Cape Girardeau Public Library to Reopen Tomorrow for Browsing Purposes

The Cape Girardeau Public has reopened its doors to the public for the sole purpose of browsing. All patrons will have the opportunity to select their own books, DVDs, or CDs by browsing library’s shelves. In addition, all pardons can still use the drive-thru window to pick up any items that were put on hold. Library employees have been working diligently in order to prepare to open the library again and they are taking the necessary steps to make sure everyone is safe. Sanitizing stations have been put in place in the library and a modified, socially-distanced computer lab has been put in place. Also, all items that are returned are being quarantined prior to going back on the shelves. Staff members will limit the number of pardons who can come into the facility at a given time and they will also limit the amount of time people can spend browsing. Masks must be worn by everyone inside the library.
