Chester Bridge Repairs Begin Tuesday, Sept. 8 25-Ton Load Posting in Effect

The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin repairs on the Missouri Route 51 Bridge over the Mississippi River (Chester Bridge) today. MoDOT crews will reduce the bridge to one lane, utilizing a temporary signal to guide traffic through the work zone. The bridge is currently load posted at 25 tons based on its most recent bridge inspection. Weather permitting, work will begin today and continue until all necessary repairs are complete. The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
