Victim Who Died in Carbondale Homicide Identified

The victim of a deadly shooting has been identified. Police say they found 44-year-old Jamonte Allison, of Carbondale, shot and attempted to resuscitate him. He was later pronounced dead at a Carbondale hospital. They found him when they responded to the 1000 block of North Robert A. Stalls Avenue around 6:22 p.m. on Monday, August 17 for a report of shots fired. They say Allison was shot as a result of an ongoing dispute with acquaintances. Investigators are looking for a dark color sport utility vehicle and a black four-door Dodge Charger in relation to the investigation and they are looking g for four men in connection to the shooting, but say there is not any suspect information available for release at this time. Police say this shooting is related to an earlier shooting and involved the same acquaintances. At around 3:34 p.m., Carbondale police officers responded to the 900 block of North Almond Street in response to shots fired. No one was injured and no property was damaged as a result of this shooting. The suspect left the area in an older model silver vehicle.
