Members of the Paducah City Commission took a vote on Tuesday evening to suspend an agreement that is in regards to both the design and construction of the city’s new recreation and aquatic center until the first of the year. City officials had entered into an agreement with Lose and Associates to design and build the recreation and aquatic center in August of last year. Because of the COVID 19 pandemic city officials have put the project on hold. In a 4-1 vote, the city’s Board of Commissioners gave their approval to a municipal order that has amendments to continue the suspension of the project. City officials say this is a project that they think is important to their city, but they understand the need to pause it.
