Grant That Was Recently Awarded Broadens Digital Ebook Access

Due to the growing numbers in cases of COVID 19 local residents are making their purchases over the internet, picking up purchases at curbside and also reading books they enjoy online. Due to a grant from the State Library there will be an even bigger selection of books to be able to choose from. Officials say that Amigos Library Services, that currently operates the Missouri Libraries 2 Go (MOLIB2GO) digital ebook and audiobook access program for a total of one hundred and six libraries across the state, was recently awarded $74,000 to be able to broaden current access. The New Madrid County Library is currently a member of this consortium that currently offers a digital accessibility to informational, recreational, and educational items to all library pardens. The New Madrdid County Library currently offers both books and audiobooks through the OverDrive platform. The library also offers a variety of materials that every pardon can access free of charge by using their library card.  Pardons who in need a free ecard can get one by emailing the libraries director at nmcl1@newmadridcountylibrary.com and they can ask to be added to molib2go.org.  By using their library card community members will have access n borrow from the digital collection by going to www.molib2go.org or they can also download Libby, which is a award winning one single tap reading app provided by one drive. This service is compatible with every major electronic device. Every title will automatically expire when he lending period and there won’t be any late fees. The he Institute of Museum and Library Services supports this grant with the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act that is administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
