Southeast Missouri State to Offer New Program in Cybersecurity

The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents recently gave their approval for a new graduate certificate in Cybersecurity during a board meeting last Monday. The new certificate can be obtained through the Department of Computer Science.  The certificate program will be a twelve-hour program. Classes will be offered both in the classroom and online. The board also gave their approval to a change to the Master of Arts graduate program. The change that was approved will change the heritage interpretation option’s name to Digital Heritage. University officials say Southeast Missouri State will be the first university to offer this Master of Arts option in the nation. In addition, university officials say the university will be offering a minor in Jazz studies. The program will be open to students in the fall. The program will be a twenty hour program and will be offered to connect students with the increasing interest in jazz music throughout Southeast Missouri.
