The search for four missing kayakers in Bollinger County, Missouri has ended with a good outcome. Police say the four young boaters walked out of a wooded area on a county road near the Castor River Conservation Area just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16. The minors were located safe and their parents are en route to be reunited with their children. The search started when they never reached their destination after putting their kayaks into the Castor River around 3:30 p.m. on Monday and they were not traveling with any cell phones. Search and rescue crews searched for the children near the intersection of Highway Y and Highway 34, just north of the Castor River Campground. Officials say boats belonging to the kayakers were located along the water and crews also found footprints leading into a wooded area. Officials say members of the Cape Girardeau Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Team and the Drone Team helped in the search for the children. In addition the police also used an aircraft to search the area.
