A Sikeston man is still in jail without bond after his arraignment on several charges including kidnapping and assault. The man was identified as 28 year-old Justin E. Patterson. Police say they were called to the scene of a two vehicle accident on June 4, 2020 on Highway W near Highway E. They reported that one of the vehicles was reported stolen on May 30, 2020. Police say they were trying to get vehicle information when the suspect got into the other driver’s vehicle and started driving east on highway W and there was a passenger in the vehicle. As the suspect drove near Kewaanee, he reportedly pushed the passenger out of the vehicle. The pursuit reached speeds of 100 miles per hour several times continued north on Highway 61, but a Sikeston city limits police were able to put down spike strips to slow the vehicle. The chase continued into Sikeston when the vehicle turned west onto Kathleen Street where the suspect tried to hit the patrol unit during the pursuit. Patterson was taken into custody at the intersection of Gladys and South Frisco Streets. Police say he fled the scene of the accident because he didn’t have a driver’s license. He was charged with robbery after an incident on June 3, 2020 when he stuck a Marston Missouri resident and took $50 and a check worth $350 from the man. On Monday he was arraigned via video to a New Madrid County Judge. The judge denied bond and continued the case the case to 9.a.m. on June Monday. Patterson is currently in custody at the New Madrid County Jail.
