Construction is Underway on Cape Girardeau VA Healthcare Center

Officials with the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Popular Bluff have confirmed that construction has started on the new VA Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. The brand new clinic is being constructed on Mount Auburn Road, immediately north of the Southeast Cancer Center. Johnson Development LLC will construct the 43,000 square foot facility and the project is expected to be finished in 2022. When the facility is complete it will have eight primary care teams, a lab and radiology, eye and audiology clinics, a pharmacy and many specialty services and procedures. Officials are hoping that all service veterans within the Cape Girardeau area will make it a point to enroll to receive VA medical care. Officials say their goal is to enroll over 3,000 verterans participants in the next couple of years. Officials say there are several ways for area veterans to choose VA Medical Insurance. They can call 573-772-2306 or 573452-1926. They can also have a paper application mailed to them. Veterans also have the option of printing off a copy of the 10-10 EZ from the VA’ web page at www.va.gov./vaforms  and send it through the mail to 1500 North Westwood Boulevard in Popular Bluff.
