State Businesses That Resist Stay-at-Home Order Could be Punished with Misdemeanor

Businesses that resist Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s stay-at-home order could face a misdemeanor under emergency rules that recently took effect. The change went into effect on Friday, but legislators who serve a bipartisan committee will have the opportunity to look over the change on Wednesday. If the committee does not reject the change it will be in effect for 150 Days. Class A misdemeanors are punished by a fine between $75 and $2,500.
