Southeast Missouri State Starting New Online Programs Within Childcare and Development

Southeast Missouri State University is starting two new online degree programs during the summer semester that is set to begin on May 18, 2020. The program is for students who are interested in furthering their educational level in child care and child development. The degrees that will be offered in the new program will include an online Associate of Arts in Child Care and Guidance and an online Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies. This child development option will provide a consistent pathway for students in the program to have the ability to earn a credential in only two years while they continue their educational experience at the university. The programs are made for students who are currently working with young children, those already working in childcare centers and those who can’t finish their degree at the university, officials say. Officials say they hope the programs meet early childhood employer requirements and offer a flexible curriculum for students for a comfortable life and work balance.
