Certain Businesses to Reopen Next Week in Kentucky

Some businesses in Kentucky have been granted permission to reopen in May. On Wednesday, officials provided a time line for the first phase of reopening certain businesses and activities in the state On May 11 manufacturing, construction, vehicle and vessel dealerships and professional services will be able to reopen, but they will only be allowed to operate at half capacity. In addition, pet grooming and boarding services can also open back up.  Horse racing venues can reopen, but without fans. Retail businesses and houses of worship will be allowed to reopen on May 20, 2020. In-person services will be allowed to be held in smaller capacities only if social distancing, cleaning, sanitation and other accommodations are followed. Youth sports could be allowed in June or early July. On Wednesday, officials there are 184 new COVID-19 cases in Kentucky and 10 new deaths. Currently, 4,539 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in the state, including 235 deaths and 1,668 recoveries.
