On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Education apportioned a total $206 million in funding for Missouri colleges, universities, and trade schools. A total of $103million will be made available right away so schools can make emergency cash grants to students to pay for expenses like course materials, food, housing, and health care. The other half of the grant will be apportioned to schools in the weeks to follow to offset generic expenses that are related to the virus outbreak like distance learning expenses.
