Cape Girardeau Coronavirus Testing Site Cutting Back Hours
The community-wide Coronavirus Test Collection Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri will be cutting back hours of operation starting Friday. The Center will now be in operation from 1.p.m. to 6.p.m. Officials say the reduced hours are due to a decrease in the number of people being tested at the location. Anyone who comes to any of the local testing sites will need a referral from a health care professional. This means someone has already screened the person and deemed their symptoms for a warrant for getting a test. Anyone who needs to be tested for the coronavirus will need to call the Coronavirus Community Nurse Hotline at 573-331-4200. The Hotline is staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Health officials say that if anyone gets tested the results are not immediate.
