Missourians Encouraged to Stay Home as Cases Increase

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 1,581 positive cases of COVID-19 and 18 deaths in the state on Wednesday. Government officials say between now and the end of May they are estimating a more than $500 million shortfall. Officials said they had to take a hard look at the state’s budget and make some difficult decisions. Officials are also restricting $180 million dollars in the current state budget. Officials say they are hoping l they may be able to use an additional $315 million in federal funding this year to help with the shortfall.
