Governor Pritzker Activates 115 Additional Military Members to Fight Virus Outbreak

Illinois Governor .J.B. Pritzker activated 115 additional members of the Illinois National Guard and airmen in support of COVID-19 response operations. Government officials say that about 80 of the additional members will assist with communications and reporting between county health departments within the state and the State Emergency Operations Center. An additional thirty airman will help to establish a medical facility at McCormick Place. The total number of activated military men and women supporting the COVID-19 response is about 380, with about 360 on state active duty.
