Work Continues at Center Junction

Construction on the Diverging Diamond Interchange continues at Center Junction. Construction is currently taking place on Interstate 55 and Route 61. Depending on weather conditions work will continue on Route 61 near Cape Girardeau County Park North. The Exit 99 Interchange ramps and the exit 99 northbound I-55 on ramp and southbound I-55 off ramp are currently closed to the public. Northbound Route 61 will be reduced to one lane as construction crews install a temporary crossover north of Boulder Crest Drive to North Cape County Park Drive through Saturday, March 28 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day. Southbound Route 61 is currently reduced to one lane as construction crews install a temporary signal at North Cape County Park entrance.  The lane closures will run from Veterans Memorial Drive to Boulder Crest Drive. Work will continue through Saturday and run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day. Lane closures that have a 10-foot width restriction will continue through April 2, 2020 on Interstate 55 Northbound to construct a crossover. These closures will be in place for 24 hours. The work zones will be marked with signs.
