Cape Girardeau Fire Department Closes to Public to Prevent Virus Spread

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department is taking precautions as the coronavirus continues to spread. Department officials say their emergency services will continue despite the ongoing concerns with the outbreak Officials say they are currently asking residents who might be experiencing symptoms related to the coronavirus to call their health care provider or the emergency room first, so everyone can take the steps necessary to keep residents safe and patients should expect 911 dispatchers to ask many questions about symptoms they may have.  Department officials are also taking proactive measures and stopping activities like attending outside events including public education. All the department stations are closed to the public.
