Southern Illinois University Carbondale to Cancel on Campus Classes Until Next Semester

Southern Illinois University Carbondale officials have made the decision to cancel in person classes for the rest of the current semester. Officials say they will continue to use alternative formats for the remainder of the semester. In addition the Student Recreation Center will be closed. Several university instructors and other staff members will be able to work from home or work flexible schedules. Food services will no longer be available in the Student Center, but food services will still be available to students in the university dining halls. Those who travel to California, Massachusetts, New York or Washington, as well as all international travelers will be required to be self quarantined if they are a part of the university when they return. Anyone with questions with questions about the change can call the Office of the Dean of Students at (618) 453-4846 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
