Members of the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and other city officials had discussions about current projects taking place at Capaha Park during Monday night’s monthly meeting. Several projects have started such as the building of a splash pad that is almost complete. Officials say they expect to have landscaping installed in April. The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new attraction is slated for May 1, 2020. Other projects that are taking place at Capaha Park include improving the currant bandshell that is close to being finished and a rebuild of the Rose Garden. In addition the construction of an amphitheater that will have dug out seating is also being built. It will have a bigger stage that will include electrical outputs that run from the stage to a soundboard.
